As a working mother, I am sure every one of us have had the situation of being tagged by others/self-tagged by us as bad mom because of our own careers.I too had similar situations and I am trying my bit to overcome the same.. Career is what we choose and there is no point in being tagged by ourselves as bad mothers.
I have a bag of unwashed clothes, my to do list is never ending , have a zillion things to clean , my room is always cluttered and someone asked me ,did not you have the guilt of not taking an off when your son is in his holidays but rather rush to office ?I have this person who is a distant relative but never fails to ask me the same clichéd question, Do you even have time to attend functions, you always either rush or do not attend one. And there are few who educate me what to feed and what not to feed my son. Someone pointed me by saying, as a working mom, my life is as easy as that and I excuse myself from household chores (seriously?!! raising my brows high ,let us please put our rationale thinking here) But the main one is this, when someone feel sick at home and you go beyond to try every possible ways to balance work and life only to get the prestigious bad mom/woman tag
Life is this and as pointed in the article there are people who always wanted to pull us down like the wordings printed on the bus(as pointed in the article).Sometimes you should have the guts to move on for your own betterment least giving importance to the pullers.
There is nothing to be tagged as bad mom. Love is love no matter what. While juggling both the personal and professional space, we ensure to provide the same love and affection ,we also go beyond to ensure that we give the best to our kids in whichever way possible! So yes, I pledge now, not to taboo my own self with the bad mom tag anymore!
