An yearly spiritual family trip and was eagerly waiting about it!! A break from the monotony is always a respite!
Palani and Gunaseelam were on our cards!First destination was Palani..After all the refreshments,we were getting ready to see his holiness via a rope car but motivated by few of our family members, we changed our minds and so decided to climb in "yaanai adi padhai"..Took a tonga ride to reach the adivaram.. What a ride it was..!!
The husband and I are bulkier, some breaks and motivation from others, made the climb a breeze.. Yet another incident
to prove team work wins, no matter what!
From there we drove to gunaseelam..The baton of doing garuda sevai and sahasradeepalankara sevai is passed on for generations now and every year, we eagerly wait for it to happen.
Sahasradeepalankara sevai:
Sahasradeepalankara sevai started by 6pm.. A room of 1008 lamps were lit. Srinivasa venkatachalapathy and his consorts were made to swing in a flower decorated swing inside the deepalankara room.. An eye candy to watch.
Garuda sevai:
After an hour,Garuda sevai started with majestic garudar lifting the god on his shoulders.. The beauty of god on the shoulder of the garudar along with a dangling umbrella is a sight to watch.. Especially the nadaswaram and chal chal movement of the danglers from umbrella because of wind, were so pleasing to the ears.. The garudar lifts the god for one full round and then goes to his original place inside the temple.
Kannadi arai sevai:
Post the garuda sevai and after few minutes, kannadi arai sevai was done.. The room is completely embellished with glass decors and from every corner, you can see his highness and his consorts! Pure bliss!
Arthajamam:
Post the kannadi arai sevai, the utsavar goes around for a round inside the temple premises and finally goes back to his place for one last deepa harathi for the day and doors were closed post the harathi.. We were then made to stand in line for neivedhya milk distribution. Then water was sprayed on our faces(speciality of the temple to cure illness).
The day came to an end but the prasadam still lingers in my tongue.I have tasted the best kesari, puliyodharai and Sakara pongal only from this temple's madapalli.
Om Namo Narayanaya!!!
