What makes me happy on an otherwise stressful day? Food!
Yes you read it right.. Food brings the josh in me.. I was a finicky eater during my school and college days..The default preferred lunch box menu then was curd rice and pickles.
Thanks to the job and that made me pack my luggage and move away from my cosy cocoon.. There started my cooking marathon..It became more of a necessity to satiate my hunger pangs.. A zillion condiments, a few ready to use paste from my mom and my weapon(rice cooker) was a saviour! I was able to churn out varieties with the above..
My interest towards cooking got still more aggravated during my maternity break.. My mom is a veteran in traditional vegetarian cooking and I used my break to learn recipes from her..
There were days, when my husband complained every other meal..More trails and I understood, my dishes were overpowering with tanginess. I started slowing down to correct the same.Cooking is an art and every day is a learning. It dawned on me to start trying my hands in other vegetarian cuisines. Learning different cuisine is fun and is also a respite to the monotonic routine.
Cooking did also pay the way for exploring cuisines, trying out dishes and of course occasional visits to the restaurants.Right amount of good food and right amount of exercise wins.. Hands down..
Many even pull my legs saying, I take more of food pictures than that of people’s picture.Which is absolutely true in a way!
One thing that I understood from my experience till now is, if you are passionate about something, give your best.. No matter what.. There are people who always pull you down but if we give importance to them then we will never be able to climb up..Cooking has become more of a passion to me now..My brain child is my cookery blog..Which is quite dormant for now..I so wish,I just update my external cookery blog and write often
Yesterday was one of the hectic days.. End of the day,I headed out to a masala milk shop and had a glass of malai floating elaichi flavoured masala milk.. Yum is an understatement! One of the stress busters. No wonder that food is a good medicine for the soul!!
